Mr. Vilis Krištopans is an experienced politician who served in the Latvia government as Prime Minister (1998-1999) and prior to that as Minister of Transportation. He served in the Latvian Saeima during three mandates (1993-1996; 2002-2007 and 2022-2024).
He was elected member of the European Parliament in 2024 and sits with the Patriots for Europe group. Mr. Krištopans is member of the Foreign Affairs committee (AFET), member of the Delegation for relations with the People's Republic of China, and a substitute member in the Agriculture & Rural Development and in the Transport & Tourism committees.
