Mr. Vilis Krištopans is an experienced politician who served in the Latvia government as Prime Minister (1998-1999) and prior to that as Minister of Transportation. He served in the Latvian Saeima during three mandates (1993-1996; 2002-2007 and 2022-2024).

He was elected member of the European Parliament in 2024 and sits with the Patriots for Europe group. Mr. Krištopans is member of the Foreign Affairs committee and a substitute member in the Agriculture & Rural Development and in the Transport & Tourism committees.
