International Holocaust Remembrance Day

People around the world have taken the time and space today to remember the victims of the Holocaust: six million Jews and hundreds of thousands of Serbs, Roma people, Poles, Russians, people with disabilities.

Every year, we renew our commitment to never forget the horrors inflicted on these people and the ways Europe reached that point. We remember and honor the victims and survivors by working tirelessly against discrimination, against policies that promote hate, against Antisemitic tendencies.

Our MEPs have taken concrete steps in that direction last year. In February 2020, together with other members of the European Parliament, they launched the European petition against Antisemitism. It is an important document we hope will contribute to the fight against the prejudice aimed at Jewish people, especially in the context where two thirds of people worldwide doubt the Holocaust or blatantly deny it ever happened. The petition is going to be submitted to the EU institutions for further action soon, so take two minutes today and sign it; add your voice to this effort.

It is available in all EU languages and we commit to handling your data with utmost care, in compliance with the GDPR.
