Building Hope & Encouragement in a Changing World

The 18th edition of the EDI forum is taking place in Tuk Vojni, Croatia this year. Economics, Diplomacy and Integrity (EDI) is an initiative designed to support the development of young professionals in the areas of economics, business and politics with integrity based on Christian values.

Biblical principles like integrity, moral leadership, service to the community, a focus on the poorest and their needs, faith and transparency can help combat corruption, selfishness, hopelessness, debilitating unemployment, and abject poverty. Our hope is that when these principles are applied, they will end up changing and developing the region, not just in terms of economics or growth, but through the creation of a community of leaders committed to creating and maintaining just relationships between people, between companies and governments.

During this week-long training, EDI participants will undertake an intensive and inspiring journey that will enrich them professionally, intellectually, relationally and spiritually, and motivate them to make a difference in their country and community.  The attendees will engage in activities that will combine both theory and practice: they will listen to lectures from prominent speakers and experts in the relevant fields, followed by interactive workshops where they will apply the principles learned.

The forum has a strong focus on the refugee issues in Southeast Europe, as well as on tackling corruption and strengthening entrepreneurship, political engagement and helping the poor, reconciliation between ethnic groups in Balkans, and beyond.

The main objectives of the 2024 EDI Croatia forum are:

-        To engage young professionals primarily from Southeast Europe (but also from the wider international community) in a series of conversations on economics, diplomacy and politics to encourage and promote post-war reconciliation and development.

-        To facilitate the formation of new business plans, political engagement, networks and other projects, and assist in their implementation by developing a plan, working on logistics, and creating a network of support.

-        To support professional networks by connecting current participants with alumni and leaders in EDI and ROM. Also, to connect them to political networks which share the Biblical values as a foundation for their work, such as ECPM's network of parties and organizations.
