ECPM member Inga Bite re-elected as member of the Latvian Parliament

On Saturday the 4th of October 2014, Latvian citizens cast their votes for the composition of the 12th Saeima (Latvian Parliament) electing 100 members of the Parliament. ECPM member Inga Bite who ran on the list of the Latvian Association of Regions was re-elected as a member of Parliament. The Latvian Association of Regions is a centrist political party coalition created in March 2013 out of three main regional parties in Latvia and headed by Mārtiņš Bondars. The party crossed the threshold of 6% with 6.47% adding 8 members to the Saeima.

A few weeks prior to the elections, Mrs Bite participated in a round-table discussion organized by ECPM in Riga where she restated her commitment to promote Christian values in Latvia and Europe. ECPM is very pleased with Mrs Bite’s success and wishes her much strength and wisdom during the new mandate.

ECPM member KDS (Christian Democratic Union) in Latvia also took part in the elections but unfortunately did not manage to get a member elected in the Latvian Saeima.
